Violin Lessons Houston

Hello, my name is Jason Ashley.  I am a professional violinist and string teacher, currently residing in the Tomball area.  I have over 25+ years of professional experience as a violinist and hold a Bachelors, Masters and Graduate Professional Diploma in Violin Performance.  My formal teachers included Bernard Lurie-CM/Hartford Symphony, Mitchell Stern -American String Quartet, Peter McHugh-CM/Louisville Symphony, Philip Setzer-Emerson String Quartet, Patrick Rafferty CM/ Milwaukee Symphony.  I bring to you a rich extensive performing career diverse in works of solo, small and large ensemble repertoire and have the privilege of touring and performing national and internationally in professional orchestras.
I have been actively involved in the violin since the age of 3 through the Suzuki method.  Though I implement many properties of this method in my instruction, I tend to focus more on the traditional approach.  I ultimately feel that combining a good balance of string theory, technique, musical style approach, interpretation and a mix of effective string pedagogical methods helps to build and develop a stronger, better-rounded musician, violinist and competent performer.
I have a wonderful opportunity to team up at Allegro Violin School with another master violin instructor.  His name is Mr. Chaiwat Rodsuwan, who I feel; founded and built one of the best flourishing violin schools in and around Houston and surrounding areas which includes a range of students from Cy-Fair, Tomball, Klein, Conroe, The Woodlands, Humble and Aldine.
As I teach at this wonderful school, I will be mostly focused on the serious intermediate and advanced violin or viola player who seeks to raise their level of playing to collegiate, professional and beyond.  I am a certified string teacher with over 13 years of public school teaching which includes elementary to high school, as well as college.  I am well versed with UIL standards, procedures, requirements, repertoire, rigors and expectations.
“I feel that learning and mastering the violin is a life time event full of challenges and rewards, and the makings of a successful string player, with good guidance; develops and grows in a positive nurturing environment.”

Sincerely,  Jason Ashley-Professional Violinist
